Jazz, Wine and Dinner: The Burgundy Experience After Dark

When Night Falls on NAL Boulevard

There is a particular magic that happens at The Burgundy after dark. The dining room — already intimate by day — transforms into something almost otherworldly. Candlelight catches the wine glasses. The warm glow of the bar illuminates rows of rare bottles. And then the jazz begins.

The Sound of The Burgundy

Live jazz is not background music at The Burgundy — it is part of the experience. Our musicians understand the rhythm of a tasting menu: quieter during the early courses when conversation flows easily, building in energy as the evening deepens, settling into something warm and reflective by dessert.

The music is never intrusive. It is the heartbeat of the room — felt more than heard, creating an atmosphere that no playlist could replicate.

The Wine Cellar After Dark

Our glass-walled wine cellar holds up to 1,000 bottles, and at night it becomes a jewel box — backlit shelves displaying labels from across the African continent and beyond. For guests who choose the wine pairing (NGN 195,000 including the 7-course dinner), our sommelier guides them through a curated selection that elevates each course.

The pairing is not random. Each wine is chosen to either complement or contrast the dish it accompanies — a bright South African Chenin Blanc to cut through the richness of confit duck, a bold Moroccan red to stand up to the depth of our egusi.

The Dinner Timeline

A typical evening at The Burgundy unfolds like this:

6:00 PM – Arrival: Guests are welcomed and seated. The bar offers pre-dinner cocktails for those who arrive early.

6:30 PM – The Journey Begins: The first petit four arrives — a collection of bites that signal the evening's direction.

7:00–9:00 PM – The Seven Courses: Each course arrives at a measured pace. Between dishes, there is time to talk, to listen to the music, to simply be present.

9:00–9:30 PM – Coffee & Conversation: The final course gives way to coffee or tea. Guests linger. The jazz plays on.

By 11:00 PM – Close: The evening winds down naturally. No one is rushed.

Why Dinner, Not Just Food

The Burgundy exists because Chef Stone believes that dining should be an event — not a transaction. The combination of live jazz, exceptional wine, and a 7-course narrative creates something that cannot be replicated at home or in a conventional restaurant.

It is 70 guests sharing a single evening. No two nights are the same. The menu changes every 4–6 weeks. The jazz set is never repeated. The wine list evolves. But the feeling — that sense of being somewhere extraordinary — remains constant.

The Burgundy dinner service runs 6pm–11pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations required: 08094111112.
